Allium Way was a development of 16 luxury, energy-efficient 3–5 bedroom homes, designed to provide modern, comfortable living while delivering high levels of energy efficiency and sustainability.
A comprehensive plumbing and heating design was completed for the development, ensuring each property had an efficient and appropriately sized heating and hot water system. Heating and hot water were provided by Mitsubishi air source heat pumps, delivering a low-carbon alternative to traditional heating technologies.
Underfloor heating (UFH) was installed throughout the ground floors, providing even and comfortable heat distribution and making efficient use of the low-temperature output of the air source heat pumps. At first-floor level, steel pressed, energy-efficient radiators were installed to provide effective space heating, alongside heated towel rails within the bathrooms and en-suites.
The plumbing and heating systems were designed to work seamlessly with the wider sustainability strategy for the development, including integrated solar PV, battery storage and EV charging points. Together, these measures contributed to the homes achieving an A-rated energy performance, while providing homeowners with an efficient, comfortable and future-ready heating solution.
